8/13/2023 0 Comments Swap control and command keys mac![]() Why is that a problem? Well I just purchased the MX Master 3S, which is Bolt-only, but I have the aforementioned MX Keys for Mac which doesn't have a Bolt-version, even in the business editions (since they don't make a 'business edition' of the Mac version one.) Also, I can't use Bluetooth since I use a KVM so I need USB. not making their Bolt receivers also work with Unifying devices. I will say one thing that Logi screwed the pooch on. You can remap the left and right keys to completely separate things. This lets you (re)assign individual keys to whatever you want. Note, this is *not* the same thing as flipping them in the Keyboard settings on Control Panel. Look up `hidutil` and you can write a simple shell script that will flip them for you (or any other key for that matter), no third-party software needed. Ironically, if you're on a Mac, you don't even need that software as it's built-in. The standard MX Keys barfs all over the keys to the right of the spacebar which I LOATHE and have used key-remapping software to address that. I have both the regular MX Keys and the MX Keys for Mac (two of each actually) and *greatly* prefer the latter as it properly preserves the true layout of a Mac keyboard. You can't fault a 'for Mac' product for not supporting something that's non-mac!Īnd as for why the 'For Mac' version exists in the first place. "FOR MAC!" You by definition are using this in a multi-environment setting, which is precisely why you should have the standard MX Keys. Also, why would the 'Mac only' version allow you to switch to a different platform? How is that 'awful' as you said? It's right in the title. The standard MX Keys are everywhere online (just check Amazon.) I actually find it more difficult to find the Mac-specific version. At first I though it did not work but it looks like it requires a couple seconds after switch to another computer to take an effect. UPD 2: Ok, looks like auto-os-switch does work if you install Logitech Options software on both computers, go to More Settings and set "Always keep the keyboard in Mac layout" ("Always keep the keyboard in Windows layout" on Windows). can it be automated with the Logitech or any other software? ![]() Now new question - switching like this every time is very annoying. UPD: OK, I've found the solution, I think, it is FN + O for macOS and FN + P for Windows (press for 3 seconds). It is quite frustrating that this product work like this given that it costs $130. I also (like u/real_Zark_Muckerberg) tried to press FN + U for 3 seconds like you've suggested but it did not work. I know I could swap them in mac's keyboard settings but I do not want to do that because I do not want to mess up my other keyboards. I am having the same issue, my "MX Keys for Business" that I connected to my Mac treats Opt as Command and Command as Opt. I also read countless related topics but nothing worked/helped. Trying SharpKeys did also not help because it does not recognize the OPTIONS key when I press it. I also installed this Logitech Options software package but this doesn't bring any useful option for swapping keys either. I tried FN + P (hold 3 seconds) but this doesn't do anything for me. Does anyone know how to swap the ALT & WINDOWS key when I have my MX Keys for Mac connected to a Windows 10 machine? 8/13/2023 0 Comments Overwintering king tut papyrus![]() Solutions: In minor cases of brown spot, there isn’t any need to treat the disease. For serious cases of fire ants, consider hiring a professional. Some ant baits are only available to professional exterminators. These parasitic flies attack invasive fire ants. Introduce or promote beneficial phorid flies to gardens. Look for products that contain Indoxacarb. Apply the bait during a dry evening so the ants can forage for it at night. For a chemical solution, broadcast insecticide bait formulated for fire ants in the area around a mound. Pour citrus oil, which is toxic to fire ants, down their holes. Dig out and remove entire mounds (remember, they go deeper than they seem). For less severe cases: Physically remove mounds. Keeping them under control will ensure comfortable gardening for all. Fire ants can be a painful pest to have around for you and your plants. Solutions: Caution: fire ants are venomous and cause painful bites which can be fatal in the case of a rare but significant allergy. An infected plant will likely die within ten years. Antibiotic injections applied by a professional can reduce symptoms for a season, however, the above cultural management methods are the best options to reduce symptoms and prolong life. If your plant has bacterial leaf scorch, there is no cure. Severely affected twigs may be removed using a pair of sharp and sanitized pruning shears, as weakened branches are susceptible to secondary infections. Even if you have enough potassium in the soil, plants will not be able to take it up if the soil is consistently too dry. If soil testing has revealed a potassium deficiency, apply a potassium fertilizer and water well. Avoiding excess fertilization in the first place is the best approach. However, keep in mind that fertilizer runoff is an environmental pollutant. If fertilizer burn is to blame, irrigate the soil deeply to flush out excess fertilizer salts. Protect trees from severe root damage of nearby construction and excavation. Check the root collar for girdling or circling roots that strangle the trunk and limit water and nutrient movement. Mulching the root zone (preferably with wood chip mulch) helps retain moisture, reduce evaporation, and promotes a healthy, functional root environment that is critical for water movement to the leaves. Solutions: The solution to leaf scorch will depend on the cause, however, in general all cultural care methods that improve plant health and root functionality will reduce symptoms. 8/13/2023 0 Comments Little moments bradAnd that's why the margin is so slim when you're talking about doing a freaking end of the season press conference or playing Finals Game 1 tonight. And I know that sounds too simple, but we need to be better on offense, we need to be better on defense, we need to be better helping all through the seats we're in here within this building and we need to play better when we work all year for home-court advantage. 500 at home, we would've had rest and we'd have been in the Finals. "As I kind of do the postmortem of the season, there are all these things that I've talked about. The Celtics dropped Game 5 against the Atlanta Hawks in the first round, then Games 1 and 5 at home against Philadelphia and three of their four home games against the Heat, finishing with a 5-6 record at TD Garden in the postseason. ![]() Stevens seemed more interested in discussing home vs. Some of this is because the Heat pressured the ball, took away driving lanes and did everything they could to make Boston uncomfortable. Some of this is because the Celtics didn't space the floor as well as they could, forced bad shots and drove into traffic. But I thought that, you know, we struggled offensively to generate great looks at times against Miami's defense." ![]() It's all tied together, it all fits together. "And so we were way better most of the season late in games, but in the playoffs we had moments where we got back to that. Then we're not going to be able to play fast up the court because they're extending the floor to make you take time to start your play later and then we get into ind of our stagnancy that hurt us a couple times late. One of the reasons we struggled late in that game is because they were scoring every time and setting up their 2-2-1. "Game 6 we played pretty well, we didn't shoot it well," Stevens said. They fell apart on both ends late in Game 6 until Derrick White saved the day, and, after Jayson Tatum hurt his ankle on the first play of Game 7, Boston never sustained enough offensive flow or its defensive focus. And late in the Heat series, the Celtics missed tons of 3s and made numerous mistakes on defense. The truth is that, as Mazzulla has said repeatedly, offense and defense are connected. "And they made, again, made a ton of shots from a lot of different places. ![]() "They went small fast and spread us out and were running great action and they made it tough for us to defend those guys on the perimeter," Stevens said. The two-big work look worked when Mazzulla eventually went to it against the Philadelphia 76ers, but "it was a lot harder" against Miami, Stevens said. He said that, "from a lineup standpoint," it was tougher to be "what we could be defensively at our most dynamic" because, after offseason surgery on his left knee, Robert Williams III only appeared in 35 games and played limited minutes, in an effort to get him as healthy as possible for the playoffs. ![]() Stevens pointed out that, as well as finishing the regular season with the second-best offense in the league, they had the second-best defense. And we obviously didn't shoot the ball well, and Miami shot it great." I do think that if I had to say one end that we came up more short on, in our last few games, it was probably the offensive end, with the turnovers. "And on both ends we came up a little bit short. "I thought that we had to improve offensively to become better, to compete, and we had to be able to play defense and maintain that level and identity that we had prior to to be our very best," Stevens said. At his end-of-season press conference, he said that offense turned out to be a bigger problem than defense against the Heat, just like it was against the Golden State Warriors last season. To team president Brad Stevens, however, it's not that simple. After falling down 3-0 against Miami, Mazzulla himself said that the Celtics had lost some of their defensive identity. Malcom Brogdon said Monday, after Boston was blown out in Game 7 at home against the Miami Heat in the conference finals, that "offense was our calling card," adding, "I don't think you win championships with a better offense than you have a defense." The Athletic's Jay King and Jared Weiss reported Thursday that Brogdon wasn't the only player who believed the team had tilted too far in one direction: Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown met with Mazzulla in March and advocated for Grant Williams to be on the floor. First-year coach Joe Mazzulla obsessed over the offense, prioritized spacing when constructing the rotation and deemphasized two-big lineups featuring Robert Williams III and Al Horford. Now that the Boston Celtics' season is over, there is a storyline solidifying: After dominating defensively en route to the 2022 NBA Finals under former coach Ime Udoka, they strayed from their identity this season. 8/13/2023 0 Comments Gif brewery cut out portion of gifMore than one and your email is getting too distracting. Instead you pick up bits and pieces as you go, usually narrated to you by the poddo about how there is some kind of pandemic which everyone thought could be contained simply by sacrificing everyone below them, which as you’ll obviously notice immediately was not the case. Fortunately it’s not as insultingly ham-fisted as you see in a lot of games where like, a skeleton will be posed in a dramatic position with an audio diary next to it. So now it’s up to our orange furry hero to work with his newly made robo-friends to get out of the shelter through a slew of puzzles, bacteria and killer robots from the Sewers, to the Slums, to Midtown and finally to the Outside.Īs with most games that are big on exploring, there’s a lot of ~lore~ to be found through environmental storytelling. I guess nature finally healed and plants and animals started growing again which is why our hero kitty had his kitty family outside while there wasn’t a single living organism, except mutant bacteria, in the enclosed shelter. All of this of course happened because humans destroyed the world with a pandemic (lol covid/monkeypox) and created an underground shelter running off into it but ended up perishing there as well. The only way to stop them of course is to give them some good ol’ UV rays but that’s not possible because the entire area is sealed off from the outside sunlight. Now the part that obviously is not like Nier Automata is that the game is about solving environmental puzzles rather than action combat, but still the vibes are there. But how little did I know just how correct my joke would be! Most of the game consists of talking to melancholy robots while your pod named 2B B-12 follows you around. I was just kind of joking at first about Nier Automata since the music in the first scene sounds just like the opening title music in Nier Automata, combined then with it looking like some of the city ruins. Unfortunately it multiplied and went out of control and now it basically eats anything and everything, including metal so even the robots down there fear it. The tiny bacteria that existed in the human world, was mutated for composting reasons and to eat all the garbage in the slums. Well here we have something similar but more disgusting: Mutant bacteria. ![]() ![]() If you’ve played Nier Automata, you may remember how there’s constantly this army of robots who attack 2B and 9S because the network tells them to attack all intruders etc. Welcome to Nuke Automata, where the entire world is void of human life, with only robots left behind living the memories of their human creators without knowing why they are doing so. Everything is adorable as hell, they have the most realistic meows (voice acted by actual cats rather than stock noises) and then due to a catastrophic accident, our hero orange kitty falls down super far below into an abandoned contamination shelter where there are no signs of human life. The game starts off as you, a stray kitty, many many years into the future, in some sewage area with your kitty friends. ⚠️Warning: This review contains spoilers. In order to avoid spoilers I basically ignored all info about the game other than “Cyberpunk and cat” which put me in for an unpleasant surprise. So because I love every kind of cat and I just want to hug every cat, I decided to get Stray on Steam as it got released this past week. 8/13/2023 0 Comments Irregular past tense verbs enlgishInstead we say, “I stuck the broken toy back together with glue.
